A memo sighted on the website of the Ministry of Interior signed by Ambrose Dery clarifies that, the curfew hours imposed on Bunkpurugu Township and its environs in the North East Region has been renewed from 8:00pm to 6:00am effective Tuesday, 9th March, 2021.

His Excellency, the President’s Representative at the Ministry of the Interior, has by Executive Instrument renewed the Curfew hours imposed on Bunkpurugu Township and its environs in the North East Region from 8:00pm to 6:00am effective Tuesday, 9th March, 2021
Government continues to urge Chiefs, Opinion Leaders, Youth and People of the area to exercise restraint in the face of the challenges confronting them and to use non-violent means to channel their energies into ensuring peace to the area.
Meanwhile, there is a total ban on all persons in the Bunkpurugu Township and surrounding areas from carrying arms, ammunition or any offensive weapon, and any person found with any arms or ammunition will be arrested and prosecuted.
